Alice: Alice Andrews began her career in textile arts as a draper for Hollywood films and commercials, later transitioning to hand printed fabric and felt. Her most recent work concentrates on an eco-couture concept. Alice's line of eco-sustainable, wearable art integrates wool fleece and natural fabrics such as silk and cotton into unique, one-of-a-kind garments. Her adventurous pieces are distinctively colored with wash-fast dye, natural dyes and plants, machine rust and teas. Pieces have raw unhemmed edges mixed with vintage findings and buttons and receive a low water immersion dyeing process. Garments are hand washable and the merino wool is super fine and soft, not scratchy. In keeping with the eco- design spirit, there is no machine stitching in her clothing line. When necessary, Alice seeks local stay-at-home women to assist with stitching and beading.
